“Fiction is a lie, and good fiction is
the truth
inside the lie.”
~
Stephen King
This club started in March of 2007 when a young dreamer, Darryl Storey,
decided that not having a creative writing class was just not going to
do at Western Harnett High School.
She visited Mr. Hinson, the principal,
and planned a few meetings for those interested in the club, and got
the writer's club to replace the creative writing class. Those interested
in writing could meet together after school and critique each other's
work while learning more skills of the trade.
Club members are free to bring in their own work (or excerpts of their
work) for critique and editing help from other members. They also work
on writing prompts to test thinking and creative skills.
